I think that America should stand for justice, that nobody should be profiled or have accusations made against them because they belong to a certain group. Black people should not be killed by law enforcers for no reason, no suspicion, just as Muslims should be free to live in this country without fearing persecution. America should stand for equality and racism should no longer be institutionalized in “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” The country that was founded by immigrants should not be a country that shuns them.

I think that the travel ban is not only inconsiderate but also unlawful, and that President Trump is personally going out of his way to make sure that Muslims don’t enter the country he declares to love. Many hopefuls from the banned country wanted to come to the United States, for the possibility of a new life, just as many of our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents did. I’m glad now they have a second chance.

This country was built on the back of immigrants, on ideas of hope and freedom. Though it took a while, African Americans were given freedom, not separate but equal, and women are considered equal to men. I believe that should be the same for every minority group, everywhere. I just hope it happens soon.
